Hull City of Culture Team champions the arts through Artsmark
There are many things to be cheerful about as the summer break looms. For Artsmark, we’re pleased that the team at Hull UK City of Culture 2017 is championing the importance of high quality art and cultural education and is encouraging schools to sign up to the Award.
After successfully bidding to be the UK’s City of Culture in 2013, the Hull 2017 team created the ‘No Limits Package’ to offer transformative cultural activities to schools across the city. One of the many positives of the package will see all schools across Hull sign-up to Artsmark Award. Working with Cape UK, our Bridge partner organisation for Yorkshire and Humber, up to 103 schools in the city will be supported to develop their cultural education provision through Artsmark.
Speaking of the successful collaboration, Drew Rowlands, Cape UK’s Development Director said: “We’re delighted to work with Hull UK City of Culture 2017 to introduce schools to Artsmark and present the programme’s tangible benefits.”
Reflecting on Hull City of Culture’s support for Artsmark, Amanda Rigler, Artsmark’s Senior Officer said: “This is brilliant news. By signing up to Artsmark, children and young people across Hull can explore new ideas, stretch themselves creatively and participate in the year long programme of cultural celebrations across the city.”
